The Gateway Inn had a lot going for it. The customer service stood out. the staff was friendly and even called to check if I needed clean towels. The room had a unique decor that added charm. Location wise, it offered decent access to transport options, making it easy to explore Chicago. Unfortunately, it wasn't all great. The room only had blinds instead of curtains, making it hard to keep it dark at night, especially with bright lights from the car dealership across the street. There were a few maintenance issues too. the bathtub faucet dripped continuously, and the shower had little water pressure. The bed felt hard, which was rough on my back after two nights. For the price, I expected a bit more comfort. I appreciated the cleanliness, but some upgrades are definitely needed.

A stay worth the trouble
This place had a fridge and a microwave, which was super convenient, especially after a long day. The shower was always hot, and honestly, it felt like a relief after dealing with everything going on in life.
It wasn't exactly cheap, but you get what you pay for I guess.
